Van Horn Council Donates $2,000 To Robotics Team

VAN HORN, TX (Ben Caxton) — The Van Horn City Council has stepped up and donated $2,000 to the Van Horn Robotics Team to cover expenses for another meet. The entire seven-member team, including Sponsor Adrian Norman, addressed the City Council on an upcoming robotics competition in Kinder, Louisiana. The Robotics Team competed in Lubbock two weeks ago as we reported on Valentine Radio and finished in 19th place after a motor went out on the unit. They have a new opportunity to compete against students from all over the country from March 23th through the 26th but needed a little help to cover the cost of the entire trip. The team had already earned much of the entry fee of $4,000 plus expenses. The City Council praised the team for their efforts and donated the funds they needed to make their next trip a reality.
