ALPINE (Ben Caxton) — In a live press conference yesterday afternoon the Alpine Police Chief, and Brewster County Sheriff confirmed that the remains discovered last Friday do indeed belong to missing Sul Ross University student, Zuzu Verk. “We do have a positive ID through dental records that the remains found in Brewster County were that of Zuzu Verk” Brewster County Sheriff Ronnie Dodson. The remains had been taken to the Dallas Institute of Forensic Science over the weekend for identification. Dodson said that they were notified of a positive ID yesterday shortly before 3:00pm. The Sheriff said the result had been anticipated, adding that “there was just too much there that convinced us of that.”
