VALENTINE, TX (Ben Caxton) — The Van Horn robotics team has returned from the Hub City Regional competition that ended Saturday in Lubbock. Forty-five teams competed, including entries from Turkey, and Mexico. The Van Horn entry by team “2613 Protobots” ended up ranked 19th. Their creation, a two-foot by three-foot automated rope climber took months of work. The students got some valuable help and pointers along the way from Blue Origin engineers. The Jeff Bezos folks helped teach students in the use of precision electrical tools and software programming.
