Pipeline Protesers Attract Parole Violater Wanted For Rape, Sex With Minor

PRESIDIO COUNTY, TX (Ben Caxton) — Last weekend, seven new protester arrests were made along the construction route of the nearly completed Trans-Pecos pipeline. One of the protesters it seems had a little extra to hide. Pedro Rabago Gutierrez, who had been going by the name of Pete Hefflin, was arrested after being found to be wanted out of California for parole violation. According to the sheriff’s office, Hefflin had been identified by law enforcement before and gave fake social security cards to verify his identity. A warrant was then issued for his arrest for tampering with a government record. Once Hefflin was in custody a fingerprint scan was conducted at the U.S. Border Patrol Checkpoint on Highway 67. The scan identified Hefflin as Gutierrez, who had been wanted out of California since 2007 for a parole violation. He had been on parole for several charges including assault by a deadly weapon, false identification to a peace officer, rape by force and sex with a minor. Gutierrez has refused to sign a waiver of extradition to be moved to California, and a governor’s warrant has been requested. He is currently being held in the Presidio County Jail with no bond for the parole violation. A $10,000 bond has been set for the charge of tampering with a government record.

  1. Any more news about the Verk case? This is disturbing on so many levels because of the alleged Fabian family involvement. It’s interesting to note that the AG’s office is prosecuting.
