New State Park To Be Discussed At Marfa Meeting

MARFA, TX (Ben Caxton) — A new state park for the Tri-Counties may be just around the corner, and you’re invited to come talk about it. Meetings have been scheduled for March 14 in Marfa, and March 16 in Presidio for the public to discuss the idea. Initial plans are already well underway for a proposed “Chinati Mountains State Natural Area” and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department wants to hear local input for future planning and development. The meeting will provide details on proposed facilities and maps of recreational use areas. Both meetings are scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. In Marfa it’s being held at the Presidio County Courthouse. In Presidio, visit the Presidio Activity Center to attend.
