Lambs and Goats taking over Alpine

ALPINE (Ben Caxton) — The three day livestock show is underway today in Alpine. 4H and FFA members from across southwest Texas will be showing off their animals through Saturday afternoon, followed by an auction Saturday night. Today’s action includes judging of lambs, and then goats. The judge for the animals today is Chase McPhaul of Big Lake. Food and beverages are being served so you’re urged to come hungry, and thirsty. On the menu at the concession stands through the event are breakfast burritos, coffee, and donuts in the mornings followed by briskets and burritos the rest of the day. The event is in its 73rd consecutive year and is being held at the Alpine Civic Center, commonly known as “The Chute”.
