Another Small Earthquake Sunday Evening

TRANS PECOS, TX (Ben Caxton) — Another small earthquake occurred in West Texas Sunday evening. The 2.6M tremor occurred in an area that has seen 5 quakes, including a 3.1M and 3.2M event in the last eight days. Sunday’s quake was quite shallow, at a depth of just over 1-mile underground.

  1. Is this due to fracking, I wonder, –or is Trans Pecos going to birth its own volcano, like Paracutin in Michocoan, Mexico, 1943?
