Jeff Davis Resident to Protest Trump Inauguration

MARFA (Ben Caxton) — Katie Smither of Jeff Davis county told the Big Bend Sentinel that the election of Donald Trump was “personally offensive”. So she’s fighting back. She’s one of a handful of local residents headed to Washington to march in protest. Others have chosen to express their displeasure by scheduling events for tomorrow a little closer to home. A “solidarity” march will take place starting at the Marfa City Hall tomorrow at 10am. While Alpine residents are encouraged to fight for their rights by hiking up Hancock Hill at noon, and commiserating afterward at a rally in Railroad Park.
